A willow bed can be planted on a surprisingly small area of ground. A micro willow bed for example measures only 2m wide x 3.5m long and contains 52 willow plants each producing 6 or more willow rods each year. That’s over 300 willow rods every year!

For each willow bed kit we supply 4 different varieties of willow cuttings that establish & grow quickly providing a range of colours & sizes suitable for a variety of craft uses.

Each willow bed kit also contains a woven mulch mat, pegs and a metal planting bar.

Planting a willow bed is simplicity itself and you don’t even need to do any digging!

Planting & harvesting a willow bed are ideal activities to do with children who can then use their own homegrown colourful craft materials in the classroom.

Until recently every village had their own willow beds, now every school can have a micro,mini, midi or maxi willow bed too!

NO DIGGING !!
Simply mow any grass or vegetation, peg down the mulch mat, make small holes 8" (20cm) deep with the small metal bar supplied, insert the willow cutting and firm with your heel.
As easy as that!

What is a Podge ?
A Podge is a group of short willow trees planted 25cm apart in a straight or curved line that is designed to be pollarded and to mark a boundary rather like a hedge.
In effect... a POllarded heDGE.

It is a hassle free, value for money feature that is particurlarly suitable for use in schools.

Use a podge to make a simple and effective boundary around the wildlife or veg garden for instance and you can also harvest colourful willow rods each year for use in craft activities.
The local wildlife will love it too!
It is equally at home in the private garden or on the allotment.
